Microsoft has recently made significant progress in merging Bing Search and Open AI’s Chat GPT, and they are bringing the benefits of this collaboration to iOS users with an update to the Bing app. The latest update introduces new widgets, including a shortcut to Bing Chat, which is Microsoft’s chatbot powered by GPT technology.

Previously available exclusively on Android, the addition of widgets to the Bing app for iOS devices offers users a seamless way to start a chat with Bing Chat. This enhancement aligns with Apple’s introduction of widgets on iOS devices a couple of years ago with iOS 14.

The update brings two Home Screen widgets to the Bing app, allowing users to conveniently access Bing Chat with just a tap. To add the Bing Chat widget to their iPhone’s home screen, users can follow these simple steps:

1. Press and hold a widget or an empty area on the iPhone’s Home Screen until the apps start to jiggle.
2. Locate the “+” (Add) button in the upper-left corner of the screen and tap it.
3. Choose the desired size for the widget from the available options.
4. Tap “Add Widget” to add the Bing ChatGPT widget to the home screen.
5. Complete the process by tapping “Done.”

It’s worth noting that interactive widgets were introduced with iOS 14, and therefore, app developers need to update their apps to fully support this feature.

In addition to the introduction of the Bing Chat widget, Microsoft has also made improvements to the voice input button on the Bing mobile app for iOS and Android. With this enhancement, the voice input button now instantly indicates active listening as soon as users tap it, providing a more responsive and user-friendly experience.
