Inclusive AI Learning: Indian Government Rolls Out Free AI Course Under India 2.0 Program
In a groundbreaking initiative, the Indian government has introduced a free Artificial Intelligence (AI) course as a component of its India 2.0 program. This initiative offers a free online training program with a robust focus on AI, and the enrollment is now open.
The collaborative endeavor is between Skill India and GUVI, an ed-tech firm incubated by IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad. Accredited by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET) and IIT Madras, the program is a proud part of the nation’s upskilling drive, as announced by Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister of Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
GUVI, renowned for delivering personalized learning solutions, provides a comprehensive range of online learning, upskilling, and recruitment opportunities. The company is committed to teaching essential tech skills in various regional languages, thus making it more accessible.
The unique feature of this course is its availability in nine different Indian languages, significantly enhancing its reach. Aspiring learners can sign up on GUVI’s official website to access the free course. The registration process will inquire about existing knowledge of Java, coding, cybersecurity, and more, but it’s worth noting that this course welcomes everyone, irrespective of their prior knowledge in AI.
“Regardless of your programming background, whether you’re a complete beginner or someone who’s familiar with basic syntax, or even if you’re aiming to learn about Python’s advanced features, this course is for you! Get an overview of Artificial Intelligence and Python, and learn the industry’s best practices for Python programming and AI skills that real employers are seeking,” said a representative from GUVI.
The AI for India 2.0 program aims to equip individuals, particularly those from rural areas, with AI knowledge. During the launch, Minister Pradhan stressed the importance of offering technology courses in various Indian languages. He highlighted the critical role of dismantling language barriers in tech education to prepare the nation’s youth for the future.
The decision to offer the AI for India 2.0 program online and free of charge aims to extend the reach of cutting-edge technology education across the nation. The course’s quality and relevance are validated by its endorsements from NCVET and IIT Madras.
